STIEGL

Stieglbrauerei Zu Salzburg has been Austria’s largest and most successful brewery since 1492.
Since the very early days their flagship beer, the Stiegl Märzen (known in Canada as Goldbräu), has been a great success and a staple in Austrian beer culture. The brewery is located just five minutes from Salzburg centre, close to Mozart’s birthplace who was known to enjoy Stiegl beers himself.

The Stiegl brewery celebrated its 525th birthday in 2017 and has been privately owned for more than 120 years by the Kiener family. Quality and tradition are the two cornerstones of this brewery’s success story. Only the finest ingredients are used to produce Stiegl beers, which includes the use of only pure, untreated spring water from the local Untersberg mountain. Stiegl also operates its own organic farm just 30 minutes north of the brewery where long-forgotten ancient grains are cultivated and used to brew the unique Wildshut beer specialties.
